Intern in Cuba
Cuba is an unforgetable country for many reasons, whether professionally or personally. Whether to live or work there its location, climate, language and political system are all worth experiencing. Situated at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico, in the middle of the Carribean Sea, we have elected Havana, with around 2,200,000 inhabitants, in front of the Straits of Florida as the ideal city for your internship.
The Cuban economy is based on services, mainly tourism. We will find you an internship in state run firm working mainly in four main industries: logistics, tourism, education and health. Micro-firms are also allowed now and are the only privately run companies in Cuba which Cuban residents are authorized to run. They can be found in hospitality, real-estate, construction, automobile mechanics, hair-dressers, barbers, computer repairs, sports, etc. Given these two options we promise you an interesting internship whatever your major or interest might be.
Besides the internship this program includes airport transfers, insurance, lodging and 2 meals a day with Cuban families.
On a personal level Cuba is a totally different society and only through getting to know its people can one really form an opinion. One participant of the program wrote this testimony of Cuba and although everyone has his or her own opinions, I believe it is worthwhile reading in order to later contrast it or add other informationof your own.
"Cuba is an attractive and compelling country. Its people are friendly and even the low life can also be entertaining in its own way. One can envision a country with a lot of future when the situation changes and at the right time due to the culture and an enormous desire for prosperity. Cubans love life maybe more than we do and they enjoy their country's warmth with all their senses. Their architecture and music are also unique."
